#The Energy Challenge Facing Manufacturing Businesses

As a leading Australian manufacturing business, Dincel Structural Walling operates with significant day-to-day power requirements across its Erskine Park facility.

With commercial electricity prices continuing to rise, the business began exploring commercial solar as a way to reduce long-term energy costs and improve operational efficiency.

However, like many manufacturing and industrial businesses, the biggest concern wasn’t whether solar would deliver savings, it was whether the installation process could impact production.

For Dincel, maintaining production during the installation was critical.

“We needed to know the installation would be smooth and that our production wouldn’t be affected.”

#A Solar Solution Designed Around Dincel’s Operations

Sharp EIT Solutions worked with Dincel to deliver a large-scale rooftop solar system suited to the operational needs of its Erskine Park manufacturing and warehouse facility.

The project included site assessment, structural review, system design, engineering, installation and post-installation compliance checks to ensure the system was safely integrated into the existing facility.

With production continuity a key priority, Sharp EIT managed the installation to minimise disruption to Dincel’s day-to-day operations. Dincel was also supported with commercial solar finance options, helping make the project easier to move forward with while preserving capital for other business priorities.

#Projected Outcomes and Continued Partnership

While the system has only recently been installed, the commercial solar solution was designed to help Dincel reduce grid electricity use, improve energy efficiency and support long-term sustainability across its manufacturing operations. The system has been designed to deliver a projected payback period of around seven years, supported by tailored commercial solar finance that helped Dincel move forward without tying up working capital needed elsewhere in the business.

Following the initial installation, Dincel has now signed on for a second stage of solar with Sharp EIT Solutions. This next stage will add a further 100kW of solar capacity using lightweight solar panel technology designed to overcome roof load limitations and make better use of available roof space.

The continued partnership reflects the trust built between Dincel and Sharp EIT Solutions throughout the design, engineering and installation process.

The system was designed to support:
  • Lower electricity costs over time
  • Reduced reliance on grid electricity
  • Improved use of daytime solar energy
  • Better use of large-scale warehouse roof space
  • Long-term sustainability outcomes
  • Installation with minimal disruption to operations
  • Future expansion through lightweight solar panel technology
